Facts:
Kent County was named for the English County of Kent in
1642. At the time there were only two counties in Maryland
with Kent County being all of the area east of the Chespaeake Bay.
There are five incorporated areas.
Chestertown is the county seat. It was founded in 1706 and
was incorporated in 1805. The 2006 estimated population
is 4914.
